“You are going to be walking aimlessly and slowly. Let your body be your guide. Listen to where it wants to take you. Follow your nose. And take your time. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get anywhere, because for once, you’re not going anywhere.” Dr Qing Li, Shinrin-Yoku

What is Forest Bathing?

It is immersing yourself in the atmosphere of the forest through your senses. It comes from the Japanese word Shinrin-Yoku.

What can I expect on a Forest Bathing Walk?

You can expect to slow down and allow yourself to “just be”. I will invite you to become aware of your senses within nature and awaken to the local woodland around you. Forest Bathing relieves stress and gladdens the mind and heart. People often experience a deep sense of belonging, of calm and clarity of thought. It’s not about knowledge, identifying species, nor going on a hike. It’s about renewing your connection with yourself within the world.

How did you become interested in Forest Bathing?

As a Visual Artist, I am inspired by a sensorial experience of the natural world. However, I felt dislocated as an Australian living in Ireland, so I actively sought out a connection to the Irish Landscape by spending deep time within nature. This then led to certification as a Forest Bathing Guide and Forest Therapist through Nádúr Centre for Integrative Forest Therapy in Wicklow.

How do I book a Forest Bath?

You can contact me on Instagram, Facebook or at christineprescottstudio@gmail.com.

I can take group bookings for 2 or more people. A Forest Bathing experience will cost €30 each including a picnic and lasts 2.5 hours. If you have a large group please get in touch to discuss pricing options. I can also do bespoke thematic or creative nature immersion experiences.
